The curtain has recently been raised on the result of several years of reflection, crazy ideas, feats of engineering and passion: La Tour d’Argent, one of the finest jewels in the crown of Parisian gastronomy, has just opened a new chapter in its history.
A year of complete renovation has been necessary to bring this monument, one of the most emblematic in Paris, into a new, resolutely contemporary era.
We take you on a tour of the new Tour d’Argent, a house of many delights.

Founded in 1582, the Tour d’Argent had not undergone such a transformation since 1936, when it was raised to the 6th floor.
In 2023, this institution reopens its doors after a titanic renovation project led by architect Franklin Azzi and talented craftsmen.
While the building has undergone a metamorphosis to bring it into the 21st century, its identity and values remain intact.

An unchanged identity

According to André Terrail, the third generation at the helm of La Tour d’Argent, this is the declared objective of this legendary establishment.
While preserving the soul of the place, the essential spaces have been redesigned, and other new areas have been created, waiting to be discovered.

Metamorphosed after more than a year’s work by Franklin Azzi, architect responsible for the renovation of numerous historic buildings in France and abroad, La Tour d’Argent still retains the sense of hospitality and festivity that have built its legend.

New spaces

From the entrance, a series of rooms lead into the heart of La Tour d’Argent.

Le Bar des Maillets was created as a tribute to Claude Terrail, father of current owner André Terrail.
This polo enthusiast was the proud winner, with his team, of four Opens de Paris.

The adjoining Frédéric adjoining, arranged around the fireplace, refers to another important figure at La Tour d’Argent, Frédéric Delair, master of the house from the mid-19th century to 1911 and famous inventor of the emblematic recipe for duck à la presse.

6th floor

The gourmet restaurant

As you ascend to the upper floors, you’re treated to the marvellous spectacle of the gourmet restaurant and its breathtaking view over Paris.
The large picture windows and monumental silver metal ceiling with its kinetic effects give the unique impression of flying over the city.
At night, this feeling is reinforced when, like a lighthouse on the banks of the Seine, La Tour d’Argent catches the eye.

on the 7th floor

The perched table

The Tour d’Argent reaches even higher into the sky with the exceptional opening of its roof on the 7th floor.
The most audacious achievement of the project, La table perchée offers an unforgettable, out-of-time experience.
Previously inaccessible, the roof has been transformed and metamorphosed to create an exceptional green terrace.

This enchanted interlude is open daily from 6.30pm to midnight – from 12pm on weekends – and weather permitting.
Enjoy exceptional champagne from Louis Roederer, a long-standing partner of La Tour d’Argent, as well as exclusive cocktails.

on the 5th floor

L'Appartement

L’Appartement is the other surprise of this reopening.
Located on the 5th floor, this independent 150 m2 space is accessible from the Tour d’Argent or via a private entrance on rue du Cardinal Lemoine.
It promises a totally immersive La Tour experience.

The historic cellar

Champagne?

As Head Sommelier, the cellar and its immeasurable historical heritage are the focus of Victor González’s attention, as he oversees both its preservation and its development. Following in the footsteps of his predecessor David Ridgway – Chief Sommelier of the Tower for over 40 years – Victor González is the protector and guardian of many hidden treasures, all brought to perfect maturity. Raised in the restaurant’s historic cellars, all bottles bear the Tour d’Argent seal, guaranteeing their origin and ageing in optimal conditions. Among the great references that make up the Champagne wine list, La Tour d’Argent offers a champagne bearing its name in partnership with the house of R. & L. Legras in Chouilly. La Tour d’Argent cuvées are served by the glass, year-round, at the gastronomic table.
